Marketing & Sales Internship

JOB TYPE: Internship
LOCATION: Cary, NC (Thinking Maps Main Office)
REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing and Sales
 
Are you a college student seeking opportunities to develop your marketing and communication skills? Thinking Maps has an immediate opening for a Marketing and Sales Intern. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with the sales and marketing team and learn how to plan and execute targeted marketing campaigns, social media strategy, tradeshows and more.
 
TASKS MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Support execution and distribution of targeted marketing campaigns via email, social media and website
• Research and develop our customer database
• Seek thought-leading content for our social media platforms and blog
• Assist with industry, company and competitive analysis and other market research
• Assist with conference process and tasks
• Organize website leads and assign to sales reps using RocketBolt
• Assist in creation and branding of sales presentations and collateral materials

THE QUALIFIED CANDIDATE IS:
• Enrolled in a college/university earning a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Management, or a similar major with a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Able to write professional, clear, precise, well-organized documents using appropriate vocabulary and grammar.
• Familiar with social media platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, HootSuite, TweetDeck
• Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
• Able to work independently and effectively within a small team
• Highly organized and able to multitask
• Able to demonstrate effective research skills
• Adaptable and receptive to feedback and professional development
• Highly motivated and proactive
• Graphic Design experience is a plus but not necessary
 
This is an unpaid (for credit) part-time internship. Estimated weekly hours are 5-8 hours per week (schedule is flexible, but will require in-office work). Minimum of 3-month commitment. Intern will need to bring laptop and have reliable transportation.
