Path to Proficiency - ELL Thinking Maps: Path to Proficiency for English Language Learners Implementation

Training in Path to Proficiency is provided through regional and district-wide Facilitator Trainings. These trainings involve five days of focused study to prepare participants to guide their schools through the Path to Proficiency manual as a course of study.

Upon completion of the facilitator training, each participant will be able to present 13 or more sessions to his or her school, guiding teachers in the following areas of English Language Learner instruction using Thinking Maps:

  • Understanding the Perspective of the English Learner
  • Thinking Maps Adaptations for the English Learner
  • Thinking Maps and the English Language Development Levels
  • Using Thinking Maps with English Language Development Strategies
  • Understanding and Replicating Text Structures
  • Differentiating Instruction
